2 mA to 2 A Ranges

Connect the equipment as shown in Figure 16.
1. Enter the ac resistance of each shunt at each test frequency into the Table 17
A40B AC Resistance column. See the A40B manual for instructions about
how to determine the ac resistance.
2. Set the 5790A to Input 1 and the range given in Table 17. Set the 5790A to
External Guard.
3. Set the Product to output the current level and frequency as given in Table 17
and then push.
4. Wait for the 5790A reading to settle and record it in Table 17 under 5790A
Reading Volts.
5. Calculate the measured current and record in the Table 17 Calculated
Current column. This is found by dividing the 5790A reading in volts by the
shunt ac resistance in ohms. See the equation in Table 17. Verify that the
results are within the given limits.
6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 for all the test points.
7. Push  when the measurements are complete.
