Spare Chassis Upgrade Instructions

Remove Unit from Rack

WARNING:
It is recommended that a mechanical lifter (or at
least two people) be used during rack installation or removal
to prevent injury.

1. Release the two captive screws on the bottom of the
front flanges, and slide the chassis out until it stops.
2. Release the rail locks and continue to slide the chassis
out onto the lifter.
3. Move the old chassis onto a secure surface.
4. Unpack the new chassis and place it next to the old one.

Update Rail Kit

Remove Old Rail Kit
NOTE: The new chassis requires a different rail kit than the old
chassis used. A new rail kit is provided.
1. Remove the attached inner slide rails from the old
chassis before packing it for return to Overland:
a. Remove and discard the three screws holding a rail on
the side of the old chassis, and set the rail aside.
b. Repeat
Step 1
for the other rail.
2. Remove the old rails from the rack. Discard all screws.
3. Insert the inner rails into the outer rails.
Set the rails aside for return with the old chassis.

Install New Rail Kit

1. Use the steps from the included Quick Start Guide to
install the new inner rails on the new chassis.
2. Use the steps from the included Quick Start Guide to
install the new outer rails in the rack:
a. Perform the Attach the Inner Rail steps.
b. Perform the Size the Outer Rails to Rack steps.
c. Perform the appropriate Attach Outer Rails steps.
Steps vary based on the type of rack (Squared-holed,
Threaded Round-holed, or Non-threaded Round-holed).
