REFITTING THE BEACON

If a beacon kit is required when a cab is fitted it must be assembled to the cab roof. An optional Beacon Kit (Code 926R)
is available from your Hayter dealer and full fitting instructions are included.
If a beacon is already fitted to the engine cover of the machine, it must be refitted to the cab roof.
1.
Lower all cutterheads to the ground, apply the parking brake, switch off the engine and remove the ignition key.
2.
Disconnect the battery terminals, first the negative (-ve) and then the positive (+ve).
3.
Pivot the cab and operator platform forwards to gain access to the control panel. Refer to Maintenance.
4.
Remove the orange wire from the beacon switch on the control panel and connect the orange wire terminal connector
from the wiper/washer harness.
5.
Reposition the operator platform and cab but do not replace the securing fasteners at this stage. Refer to Maintenance.
6.
Remove the beacon and wiring loom from the machine.
7.
Remove the caps from the 5 screws securing the cab
roof liner and remove the fixing screws (items B). Refer
- fig. 12.
8.
Remove the caps from the 4 nuts and bolts securing the
cab roof and remove the fastenings (items A). Refer -
fig. 12.
9.
Remove the roof and liner from the cab.
10. Place the template provided on the cab roof in the
dimensioned position indicated in fig. 12 and mark the
position of the holes. Carefully drill the required
diameter holes as indicated on the template.
WARNING: PREVENT ACCIDENTS - The cab roof is made from glass reinforced plastic. Always wear eye and
mouth protection when drilling to prevent contact with the eye or ingestion. In the event of eye contact, wash with
running water and seek medical attention if symptoms persist. If swallowed seek medical attention.
11. Locate the beacon on the roof and route the wires through the centre hole. Peel back the roof liner as necessary and
secure the beacon to the roof using the original fasteners and the cable clip removed from the engine cover. Ensure
that the cable clip is secured to the L.H. fixing.
12. Connect the beacon wires to the beacon loom previously removed from the machine and route it to the rear R.H.
corner of the cab.
13. Reposition the roof onto the cab and ensure that the washer tube and wiper wires are correctly positioned.
14. Refit the roof to the cab using the fasteners and caps previously removed.
15. Route the beacon loom through the hole at the top of the R.H. rear pillar and down the side of the pillar liner. Connect
the beacon loom to the wiper/washer harness.
16. Refit the 5 screws and caps to secure the roof liner.
