This section describes the messages which may appear on
the alphanumeric display during a fault or alarm on the
Comet. The following brief descriptions indicate whether the
message is informational or an alarm, the meaning of the
message and if any measures may be taken to correct the
fault.
Any state other than normal operation (green "Load
Protected" LED on) is considered a fault by the diagnostics
system.
Before undertaking any servicing or other action, note the
status of the different LEDs and the alphanumeric messages
displayed on the diagnostics panel. If the "Monitor Plus"
option is installed, the same list of messages also appear on
the screen.
If an alarm is present and the load still functions, it is supplied
via the "Static Switch", i.e. it is not protected.
Fault: This message is displayed if a major fault occurs
and results in the Inverter shutting down. The cause of the
fault is given in the secondary alarm message.
This message indicates that the Inverter is on battery power
and the threshold for low battery shutdown warning has
been reached.
Action: Save files quickly before the actual end of battery
backup time.
Fault: This message indicates a fault in the charger module.
Action: Call the Customer Support Services.
Fault: This message indicates that the communications
between the front panel display and controls and the Comet
have been interrupted.
Action: check the connection between the front panel
display and controls and the Comet, and if necessary, call
Customer Support Services.
Fault: This message indicates a general communications
problem between the front panel display and controls and
the Comet.
Action: Call the Customer Support Services.
Fault: This message indicates a fault in the Rectifier
module.
Action: Call the Customer Support Services.
