Malfunctions and Return Instructions
6.2.1
Malfunctions
System Damage or Failure
Do not continue to use the system if:
• The power cable or plug is damaged or frayed
• Liquid has been spilled on or into the system
• The system does not operate normally when operating instructions are followed
• System components have been dropped or cover has been damaged
• System components exhibit a distinct decrease in performance, indicating need for servicing
• Liquids leak from system
• System emits smoke
If an LCD panel is damaged (e.g., broken glass), do not allow any escaping liquid to come into
contact with skin, mucous membranes (eyes, mouth), or foodstuffs. Do not inhale vapors. If
contact occurs, clean all affected areas of the body and/or clothing with plenty of soap and water.

If you continue to use equipment that has been found to be defective during an inspection, you
risk causing injury to the patient and user.

Turn off system.
Contact Brainlab support.
Attach a notice such as "DO NOT USE" to equipment to prevent it from being used inad-
vertently.
