The devices are composed of a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter is installed near the video signal source, and the receiver is placed near the desired display, up to impressive 500m (1,650ft) away for composite (CVBS) case or component (YPbPr) case in 480i / 480p with digital audio to 400m (1,300ft) away.
