Mechanical Problems

Mechanical problems can often be identified by listening
to the sound of the machine when it is operating and
observing whether the paper cutting capacity drops.
If a confetti-cut machine is making excessive noise, it
may need to be lubricated. Try oiling the cutting
cylinders. To do this, apply the lubricating oil through the
paper feed slot on the cover. Run the cutting system
forward and backward several times without feeding
paper. Then feed paper through the shredder. See the
Lubrication instructions in the General Maintenance
section of this manual for additional instructions.
If these simple solutions do not solve the problem, then
use the following troubleshooting checklists to help
identify and solve the problem.

Troubleshooting Flowcharts

This section includes four flowcharts that begin with a
typical shredder problem.
Flowchart A
Flowchart B
Flowchart C
Flowchart D
The flowcharts are designed to provide you with a
starting point for identifying, isolating, and repairing
problems.
