If the capacitor is defective:
A typical problem caused by a defective capacitor is no motor function.
If the Safe Sense feature is being engaged:
Your Safe Sense indicator will illuminate.
The cutting system will not function.
If the Anti-Jam module is detecting paper overload:
The Sheet Capacity LED's will illuminate all the way to the top.
The shredder will not accept paper.
If the Bin full detection system is not operating correctly:
The bin full indicator will illuminate
The shredder will not accept any paper

Mechanical Problems

Mechanical problems can often be identified by listening to the sound of the machine when it
is operating and observing whether the paper cutting capacity drops.
If a strip-cut shredder is making excessive noise:
The cutting cylinders may need a small amount of oil applied to them.

This only applies if the shredder is squeaking.
Gears may need to be replaced
If a cross-cut shredder is making excessive noise:
The cutting cylinders may need to be oiled.
Gears may need to be replaced.
The cutting system may have broken paper strippers
o
This will require the whole cutting block to be replaced.

Phillips screwdrivers
2. Pliers
Needle nose pliers
3. Wrenches/Sockets
5mm Allen wrench (to remove gearbox cover)
4. Hammers
Plastic-end hammer / Rubber mallet
5. Miscellaneous
Gear puller
6.
Supplies
Cleaning solvent
Shredding oil
Gloves (optional)
Gear grease (Lithium base high temperature)
Loctite Tape
Tie wraps
