Electrical Problems

The most common electrical problems result from an
opened waste basket drawer, loose wires, or a defective
PC board.
If the wastebasket is not properly in place, the shredder
will not operate. The Basket Ajar LED will help to identify
this problem.
Check the drawer to make sure it properly engages and
closes the basket ajar switch. Press the Auto On (I)
switch, then press the Manual Forward switch to start
the shredding operation.
If the PC board is defective, the shredder may not run at
all. Another indication that the PC board is defective
might be if the shredder runs in reverse, but not forward
or the LED lights do not turn off.
Occasionally the capacitor may be defective. Typical
problems caused by a defective capacitor are that the
motor runs but with no power or the motor runs but with
no direction.
