These Release Notes provide the following information: Descriptions of some Lights-Out Management commands that were not included in the Netra T1 AC200 and DC200 Server User’s Guide (part number 806-5978-10). Instructions for re-installing Solaris 8 (10/00), and also for re-installing the Lights- Out Management (LOM) software, onto the Netra T1 server with the patches you require.
Extra LOMlite2 lom> prompt commands The Netra T1 AC200 and DC200 servers have a LOMlite2 device on the system board. This provides management facilities that enable you to: Power the system up or down. Monitor the system’s temperature and the status of its power supply, fans, supply rails, fault LED and alarms even when the system is powered down.

The Patches you Need to Apply If You Are Re-installing Solaris 8 (10/00) Onto the Server The version of Solaris 8 (10/00) that is pre-installed on the Netra T1 servers already has all the patches you require. However, if you re-install Solaris 8 (10/00), you need to apply the patches listed in this section.

Re-installing Solaris 8 (10/00) From the CD-ROM 1. Break to the OpenBoot PROM ok prompt and type the following (Note that ^C indicates Control-C): ok nvedit 0:prepare-for-installation nvstore ok setenv use-nvramrc? true ok reset-all 2. Install Solaris 8 (10/00) by following the instructions in the documentation supplied with the CDs.

Precautions for Using the System Configuration Card The Netra T1 AC200 and DC200 servers contain a memory card (accessible by removing the unit’s front bezel) called the system configuration card. This card contains the system’s MAC address, serial number, and other configuration settings.
For information about transferring the system configuration card from one server to another, refer to the Netra T1 AC200 and DC200 Server User’s Guide (part number 806- 5978-10). The Fans Inside the Netra T1 Server The Netra T1 contains four fans. These fans are monitored by the LOMlite2 device, so you can use the Lights-Out Management (LOM) commands to check their status.
