6. Service
6.1 Checking the tools for wear and dam-
age.
Prior to using, check the tools for wear and damage.

Always replace worn or damaged tools. Worn and
damaged tools can cause incorrect measurements,
injuries and damage components.
6.2 Cleaning tools
After use:

Rub tools with a lint-free cloth saturated with test oil
(see also section 5 "Consumables and lubricants").
R
Rub dirty threads with a lint-free cloth saturated
with Ballistol universal oil. Allow the universal oil to
act for a few minutes. Then wipe the threads with a
lint-free cloth and blow dry using clean compressed
air.

Place the cleaned tools into the tool case.
6.3 Vacuum connection adapters
Inspect the sealing ring of adapter 1 687 023 753 (con-
nection to UI-P 1.x) and adapter 1 687 023 754 (con-
nection to UI-P 2) prior to every use for:

Damage

Replace a worn or damaged sealing ring.
6.4 Digital dial gauge 0 986 613 422
6.4.1 Cleaning the dial gauge

Do not clean the dial gauge with alcohol-containing
cleaners.

Use only a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the dial gauge.
6.4.2 Checking the dial gauge
Have a certified testing agency, e.g. EP test service,
check the dial gauge every 2 years.
This is the responsibility of the user.

Retain the original packaging if possibly needed for
shipping and send the dial gauge only in the original
packaging.
