RESIDUE PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS
Table 3-5 Residue Problems and Solutions
SOLUTION
Reduce psi or adjust gauge wheels to deeper setting to
create more loose soil to mix with the residue.
Retension modules
Change cover board angle by changing turnbuckle or
reducing psi.
Increase psi or adjust gauge wheels to deeper setting to
create more loose soil to mix with the residue.
Most likely due to module overlap - shorten modules or
move the front of the module mounting u-bolt forward j3" -
4". This will also reduce overlap.
Clipping the end teeth on each harrow section will also
reduce the overlap and reduce streaking.
Harrow frame does not need to be level for successful
operation. When running the harrow just make sure that
reel is running 1/2 - 1-1/2" deep, rolling harrow assembly
is rolling over the ground and that cover board
down-pressure is appropriate for the cover conditions.
Raised or Minimum (100 psi)
