1. Safety

Do �ot e�gage i� a�� form of horsepla� or st��t
�rivi�g while operati�g the S3970RT / S3370RT /
S2770RT.
Do �ot permit ri�ers o� the machi�e a��place other
tha� o� the platform.
Remove all loose o�jects store� i� or o� the
machi�e, partic�larl� i� the platform. Remove all
o�jects which �o �ot �elo�g i� or o� the machi�e.
Never stea�� the platform �� positio�i�g it agai�st
a�other platform.
Do �ot operate a� S3970RT / S3370RT / S2770RT
that is �amage� or �ot f��ctio�i�g properl�. Do
�ot �se the S3970RT / S3370RT / S2770RT ��til
the machi�e has �ee� repaire� �� a q�alifie�
mai�te�a�ce perso�.
Do �ot operate a S3970RT / S3370RT / S2770RT
that �oes �ot have all its �ecals a�� placar�s
attache� a�� legi�le.
Watch for ��sta��ers a�� �ever allow a��o�e to
�e ���er, or to reach thro�gh, the machi�e a�� its
eq�ipme�t while operati�g.
Use the recomme��e� tra�sport �evice whe�
loa�i�g the machi�e.
■ ■ Operation
ENSURE that �o� wear appropriate PPE while
�si�g the machi�e. The req�ire� PPE will var�
�epe��i�g o� the specific jo�. A risk a�� hazar�
a�al�sis m�st �e performe� �� the operator to
���ersta�� what PPE will �e req�ire�.
DO NOT operate the S3970RT / S3370RT /
S2770RT if �o� feel tire�, sick, or if �o� are ���er
the i�fl�e�ce of alcohol, prescriptio� or illicit �r�gs.
If �o� e�co��ter a�� s�specte� malf��ctio� of the
aerial platform, or a�� hazar� or pote�tiall� ��safe
co��itio� relati�g to capacit�, i�te��e� �se, or safe
operatio�, cease operatio� imme�iatel� a�� seek
assista�ce from ma�ageme�t.
Use three (3) poi�ts of s�pport whe� getti�g o� or
off the platform (two (2) ha��s a�� o�e (1) foot or a
similar set of poi�ts). Keep the platform clea�.

Mai�tai� a firm footi�g o� the platform floor. Operate
the co�trols slowl� a�� �eli�eratel� to avoi� jerk�
a�� erratic operatio�. Alwa�s stop the co�trols i�
�e�tral �efore goi�g i� the opposite �irectio�.
Do �ot �ismo��t while the platform is i� motio� or
j�mp off the machi�e.
Do �ot start ��til all perso��el are clearl� awa�
from the machi�e.
Never cover the floor grati�g or otherwise o�str�ct
�o�r view �elow. Make s�re the area �elow the
platform is free of perso��el �efore loweri�g.
Access a�� egress from the platform is to �e
attempte� ONLY whe� the platform is f�ll� lowere�.
DO NOT overloa� the platform �� lifti�g a��itio�al
eq�ipme�t from a� elevate� platform.
The S3970RT / S3370RT / S2770RT is �ot
i�te��e� for o�-roa� �se. The S3970RT/ S3370RT/
S2770RT ma� �e �se� o� the roa� if applica�le
co�trol meas�res are i� place a�� local reg�latio�s

Operator's of the S3970RT / S3370RT / S2770RT
MUST NOT p�sh or p�ll o�jects with the platform.
■ ■ Tipover and Falling Hazards
Operate the S3970RT / S3370RT / S2770RT o�l�
o� a firm, flat, level s�rface capa�le of withsta��i�g
all loa� forces impose� �� the S3970RT/ S3370RT /
S2770RT i� all operati�g co��itio�s.
A DANGER
The S3970RT / S3370RT / S2770RT can tip
over if it becomes unstable. Death or serious
injury can result from a tip-over accident. Do
not drive or position the S3970RT/S3370RT/
S2770RT platform for elevated use near any
drop-off, hole, slope, soft or uneven ground,
or other tip-over hazard.
Do �ot operate the S3970RT / S3370RT / S2770RT
from a positio� o� tr�cks, trailers, railwa� cars,
floati�g vessels, scaffol�s, or similar eq�ipme�t
��less the applicatio� is approve� i� writi�g ��
S�orkel.
Care shall �e take� to preve�t rope, electric cor�s,
a�� hoses, etc., from �ecomi�g e�ta�gle� i� the
aerial platform. If the platform or elevati�g assem�l�
�ecomes ca�ght, s�agge�, or otherwise preve�te�
from �ormal motio� �� a� a�jace�t str�ct�re or
other o�stacle s�ch that co�trol reversal �oes
�ot free the platform, remove all perso��el from
the platform �efore attempts are ma�e to free the
platform �si�g gro��� co�trols.
