    4 Product Description Product Description The SCANNDYgun series devices from FEIG ELECTRONIC capture and store barcode and RFID data for a variety of uses and transmit barcode and RFID data to a host via USB connection, Bluetooth or WiFi. This document provides basic instructions for using the SCANNDYgun series device.

    After the battery is fully charged the red LED turns off. 6.2 Device Reset To reset the ID SCANNDYgun press and hold the hidden reset keys 5 and 6 at the same time (see Product Description on page 8).  NOTE: A system reset may result in loss of data and/or configuration settings.

    IDENTIFICATION ID SCANNDYgun 6 Operation 6.3 SCANNDY System Menu From the application main menu press the Cancel key (12) to enter the SCANNDY system menu. To protect the system settings from unauthorized access, you will be prompted to enter a password.

To disable or enable barcode a symbology, highlight the corresponding symbology and press the Trigger key (11). To enter the barcode symbology settings, highlight the corresponding symbology and press the left navigation key (10).

For alphabetical characters press and hold the alpha/numeric toggle key (15) for 1 second to toggle between alphabetical and numeric input mode.

Highlight the menu item “Set Contrast” and press the left navigation key (10) to set the display contrast. Use the up navigation key (7) to increase the contrast and the down navigation key (9) to decrease the contrast.

    Ensure that the scanning line is directed straight at the barcode. The ID SCANNDYgun beeps and the right LED (2) lights up green to indicate a successful decode. (See the SFL script or API reference guide to learn how to define beeps and vibration alerts.) Fig.

    1. Aim the scanner at the barcode. Press the trigger key (11). The ID SCANNDYgun decodes the barcode closest to the cross center. The device beeps and the right LED (2) lights up green to indicate a successful decode. (See the SFL script or API reference guide to learn how to define beeps and vibration alerts.)

    IDENTIFICATION ID SCANNDYgun 6 Operation 6.4.3 RFID To scan an RFID tag follow the steps below: 1. Aim the scanner at the RFID tag. Make sure the tag is within the read range. Press the trigger key (11) to read data of the RFID tag.

Read the system menu description for Bluetooth settings in Menu Item „Bluetooth“ (see page 22).  NOTE: This description is only valid for devices with factory installed software. Devices with custom software can behave different, depending on the programming.

    14 Warranty Warranty FEIG ELECTRONIC warrants that the product will be free of defects in material and workmanship for 12 months from the date of shipment when used as intended. FEIG ELECTRONIC will, at its option, either repair or replace the defective products. Such repair or replacement shall be buyer’s sole remedy in the event of manufacturer’s breach of his limited warranty.
