Once power is applied, the backlight will illuminate. It is easy to see the light where the HV wires go into the
backlight (see the thick HV wires in Figure 3-17 at the bottom connector).
Notes:
1. Current drain = 0.72A @ 12Vdc
2. Frequency = 52KHz.
3. Oscillator starts at about 1.8Vdc
4. A new backlight turns on (dim) at about 2.6Vdc (600Vac at the light)
5. An AM rod antenna will pick up the power supply oscillator signal. With this antenna, the voltage was a
maximum of 1Vac near the HV transformer.

General – This AM/FM/CD in-dash receiver contains no power amplifier but can display:
•
Spectrum Analyzer vertical bars showing music output level to frequency.
•
Built-in preloaded pictures.
•
Your still pictures (JPEG, BMP, GIF or PNG format) from a digital camera or PC.
•
Your motion 'GIF files from a memory stick (PC source). Limited motion 'Gif files are like fanning a series of
still pictures to give the effect of motion (Clip motion)
Picture Location - The pictures can appear in one of three ways:
1. Jacket - Left side thumbnail allowing room for lettering
2. Wallpaper – Picture occupies the entire screen
3. Panorama – Picture pans the screen and repeats like a revolving globe.
These picture files can be played from the memory stick or permanently loaded into the receiver's "Flash Memory"
using the remote control, not the front panel buttons.
Power On – Apply +12Vdc (Battery and Acc Power) to:
•
Battery – Rear panel connector pin 18 (next to "illumination" at pin 15 so if they short it does not matter. See
rear clip in Figures 3-17 and 3-18. Pin 17 is the internal fuse connection.
•
Acc – Pin 7 is accessible internally from the top of the CN401 power connector next to ground (pin 8)
