The number of times the song can be checked out (when a CD is the music source) is often three but can be as
high as four. This is represented as a musical note symbol, displayed at the left of the song title on the model
MEX-1HD.

Recording from CD (into the HDD)

This is a simplified procedure for recording onto the hard drive. Use Figure 4-2 to locate the buttons for recording.
The concept of recording is to first select the source, then the destination.
1. Apply power to Red and Yellow wires.
2. Press the R knob repeatedly to bypass
the 10kHz AM spacing and time/date.
3. Press "Open" to open the front panel,
and sub panel tray to insert a CD.
