Protective equipotential
bonding/Grounding
Protective equipotential bonding ensures a
connection with good electrical conductivi-
ty between the exposed conductive parts of
electrical equipment and the main equipoten-
tial bonding rail (main grounding rail) of the
building. (In accordance with DIN VDE 0100,
elements are exposed conductive parts, which
– in contrast to "live parts" – can only be live as
a result of a fault.)
This measure serves to protect against electric
shock and is standardised in accordance with
IEC 60364-4-41:2005 and DIN VDE 0100-
410:2007-06.
The technical design for equipotential bonding
is standardised in accordance with IEC 60364-
5-54:2011 and DIN VDE 0100-540:2012-06.
f Observe the valid standards and local reg-
ulations.
f Use an equipotential bonding conductor
made of copper with a minimum cross sec-
tion of 6 mm².
DANGER
Danger to life due to electric current!
Danger to life due to contact with live compo-
nents.
f Completely disconnect the product from the
power supply.
f Check that no voltage is present.
f Secure the product against switching back
on.
f The product may only be installed in dry
indoor areas.
Since the circulation pump cannot be consid-
ered electrically conductive, it is necessary
to connect the pipework to the equipotential
bonding rail in front of and behind the pump.
This can be performed outside or inside of the
station. Illust. 19 shows suitable installation
points inside the station for the grounding clips.
f Attach the corresponding grounding clips to the
station pipework.
Grounding clips are available as accessories.

f Connect the grounding clips to a suitable equipoten-
tial bonding rail in the building using an equipotential
bonding conductor made of copper with a minimum
cross section of 6 mm².
