Adjusting the blended water hardness

The system is preset to 4°d.
To check, run copious amounts of water at the
nearest cold water extraction point (approx. 500-
600 l/h), check the blended water hardness with
the AQUATEST hardness tester and adjust at the
blended valve until the desired value (BWT recom-
V
mendation 4° - 8° d) is achieved.
The German Drinking Water Ordinance stipu-lates
a threshold value of 200 mg/l for sodium. The thres-
hold value was made so low so that the drinking
water can also be used for drinking and cooking
purposes by people, who have to comply with a
low-sodium diet.
Sodium content of the partially softened water
By reducing the drinking water hardness by 1 °d,
the sodium content increases by 8.2 mg/l.
Drinking water hardness – blended water hardness
x 8.2mg/l = Increase in sodium content.
Check connections and pipework connec-tions for
impermeability again.
The system is now ready to operate and hand-over.
