Heat Exchanger Hot Water Outlet Pipe (Procedure 23)
1. Isolate water supply to heater by closing cold water inlet isolation valve located
below heater.
2. Remove front panel by following steps 1 ~ 2 of procedure 1.
3. Relieve system pressure by opening and then closing a hot tap, then drain the heater
by removing the cold water inlet drain plug and the hot water outlet drain plug.
4. After heater has drained, remove clamp from heat exchanger hot water outlet pipe
and gently pull pipe out from heat exchanger (be careful not to lose pipe o'ring).
5. Remove two Phillips head screws retaining heat exchanger hot water outlet pipe to hot
water outlet assembly, remove clamp and gently pull pipe out from hot water outlet
assembly (be careful not to lose pipe o'ring).
6. Reassemble in reverse order of above ensuring o'rings are clean, free from cracks and
lubricated with silicone grease if dry.
7. Start heater and check for water leaks.
8. Purge air from premises hot taps.
Hot Water Outlet Temperature Sensor (Procedure 24)
1. Isolate water supply to heater by closing cold water inlet isolation valve located
below heater.
2. Remove front panel by following steps 1 ~ 2 of procedure 1.
3. Disconnect sensor wiring loom plug.
4. Relieve system pressure by opening and then closing a hot tap.
5. Remove two screws retaining sensor clamp and remove sensor complete with clamp
and o'ring from hot water outlet well. Note: O'ring may be stuck inside well and can be
removed by gently prising out with a small flat bladed screwdriver.
6. Reassemble in reverse order of above ensuring o'ring is clean, free from cracks and
lubricated with silicone grease if dry.
7. Start heater and check for water leaks.
Hot Water Outlet Assembly (Procedure 25)
1. Isolate water supply to heater by closing cold water inlet isolation valve located
below heater.
2. Remove front panel by following steps 1 ~ 2 of procedure 1.
3. Relieve system pressure by opening and then closing a hot tap, then drain the heater
by removing the cold water inlet drain plug and the hot water outlet drain plug.
4. Remove two Phillips head screws retaining heat exchanger hot water outlet pipe to hot
water outlet assembly, remove clamp and gently pull pipe out from hot water outlet
assembly (be careful not to lose pipe o'ring).
5. Remove two screws retaining hot water outlet temperature sensor clamp and remove
sensor complete with clamp and o'ring from hot water outlet well. Note: O'ring may be
stuck inside well and can be removed by gently prising out with a small flat bladed
screwdriver.
