Adjusting the Gas Valve Gas Regulator

The gas valve gas regulator is an integral part of the gas valve, is factory set and does not
normally require adjusting. The gas valve gas regulator may require adjusting if the
dynamic inlet gas pressure is within specifications and the minimum and maximum burner
gas pressure settings cannot be obtained when performing the 'Checking & Adjusting
Burner Gas Pressure' procedure detailed on page 47.
Do not attempt to adjust the gas valve gas regulator unless the inlet gas
pressure is within specifications and the minimum and maximum burner
gas pressure settings cannot be obtained when performing the 'Checking &
Adjusting Burner Gas Pressure' procedure detailed on page 47.
Attempting to adjust the gas valve gas regulator will NOT overcome low
inlet gas supply pressure problems.
1. Ensure dynamic inlet gas pressure is within specifications (refer to 'Checking Inlet Gas
Pressure' on page 47). Do not proceed past this step unless the inlet gas
pressure is within specifications with all gas appliances operating.
2. Perform steps 1 ~ 6 of the 'Checking & Adjusting Burner Gas Pressure Procedure' on
page 47.
3. Perform steps 7 ~ 9 of the 'Checking & Adjusting Burner Gas Pressure Procedure' on
page 47 and follow the relevant instructions below whilst performing step 9:
 If the minimum burner gas pressure can be obtained, proceed directly to step 4 of
this procedure.
 If the minimum burner gas pressure is too low and
cannot be obtained by anticlockwise rotation of the
temperature controller 'Min' dial; unscrew the gas
regulator lock nut and rotate the gas regulator
adjustment screw clockwise to increase the gas pressure
until the minimum burner gas pressure is obtained, then
tighten the locknut and proceed directly to step 4 of this
procedure.
 If the minimum burner gas pressure is too high and
cannot be obtained by clockwise rotation of the
temperature controller 'Min' dial; unscrew the gas
regulator lock nut and rotate the gas regulator
adjustment screw anticlockwise to decrease the gas
pressure until the minimum burner gas pressure is
obtained then tighten the locknut and proceed directly to
step 4 of this procedure.
4. Perform steps 10 ~ 12 of the 'Checking & Adjusting Burner Gas Pressure Procedure'
on page 47 and follow the relevant instructions below whilst performing step 12:
 If the maximum gas pressure can be obtained, proceed directly to step 5 of this
procedure.
 If the maximum burner gas pressure is too low and cannot be obtained by
anticlockwise rotation of the temperature controller 'Max' dial; unscrew the gas
regulator lock nut and rotate the gas regulator adjustment screw clockwise to
increase the gas pressure until the maximum burner gas pressure is obtained then
tighten the locknut and proceed directly to step 3 of this procedure to recheck the
minimum burner gas pressure.
