Pilot Injector (Procedure 6)
1. Isolate water supply to heater by closing cold water inlet isolation valve located
below heater.
2. Isolate gas supply to heater by closing gas isolation valve located below heater.
3. Remove front panel by following steps 1 ~ 2 of procedure 1.
4. Using a 9 mm spanner, hold pilot injector and remove pilot feed pipe olive using an 8
mm spanner.
5. Gently pull pilot feed pipe out from pilot assembly.
6. Using a 9 mm spanner, remove pilot injector from pilot assembly.
7. Reassemble in reverse order of above.
8. Start heater and check for gas leaks using a soapy water solution.
Pilot Feed Pipe (Procedure 7)
1. Isolate water supply to heater by closing cold water inlet isolation valve located
below heater.
2. Isolate gas supply to heater by closing gas isolation valve located below heater.
3. Remove front panel by following steps 1 ~ 2 of procedure 1.
4. Using a 9 mm spanner, hold pilot injector and remove pilot feed pipe olive using an 8
mm spanner.
5. Gently pull pilot feed pipe out from pilot assembly.
6. Using a 9 mm spanner, remove pilot feed pipe olive from gas valve and gently pull
pilot feed pipe out from gas valve assembly.
7. Reassemble in reverse order of above.
8. Start heater and check for gas leaks using a soapy water solution.
Ignition Rod (Procedure 8)
The ignition rod is not available as a spare part. If the ignition rod is faulty the entire pilot
assembly will need to be replaced (refer to procedure 5). The following procedure details
removal of the ignition rod in case the ignition gap requires adjusting.
1. Remove pilot shield by performing steps 1 ~ 4 of procedure 5.
2. Disconnect high tension lead from ignition rod by pulling lead away from ignition rod.
3. Remove two Phillips head screws retaining ignition rod / flame sensor clamp and
remove clamp and ignition rod.
4. Reassemble in reverse order of above.
