Centrifugal clutch

12.1 Dismantling the clutch

1. Remove the cover over the air filter. Separate the
short-circuit cables. Disconnect the throttle cable
from the carburettor. Remove the 4 screws holding
the clutch cover against the fan housing cover.
Lift off the entire assembly.
2. Stop the piston from moving by inserting piston stop
522 43 18-01 in the spark plug hole.
3. Remove both screws holding the centrifugal clutch.
Lift off the clutch. Note the flat washers that are
behind the clutch shoes.
12.2 Cleaning and inspection
Twist apart the clutch and inspect the spring and lining
with regard to wear and damage.
The thickness of the lining must be at least 1.0 mm at
the most worn point. See Figure 4.
