Inserting tools into the main spindle

Loading an empty tool magazine
23. Now insert the tool to be managed by the software as „T2" into the main spindle as indicated and
release the green button.
24. You should now once again be able to discern a small tensioning movement of the tool.
25. Ensure again that the tool has been properly clamped.
26. You are now able to use tool „T2".
27. You are now able to see in the tool table of the control software that tool „T1" is located in the tool
magazine and tool „T2" is located in the main spindle.
28. You can now load the tool magazine with further tools as described in steps 19-27 until the maxi-
mum number of tools has been achieved.
29. Maximally nine tools can be managed by the software; eight of them are in the tool magazine and
one in the main spindle.
30. As long as there are free spots in the tool magazine or the control software, you can allocate new
tools to the free spots in the magazine. Once the magazine is completely loaded and you wish to
use another tool, you have to exchange a tool in the magazine with the new tool.
6.2

Tool exchange

If you wish to exchange a tool with one located in the tool magazine, please proceed as follows:
1. In order to place the machine in operational modus, please proceed according to steps 1-8 in the
previous chapter.
2. Prepare the new tool.
3. If the tool to be exchanged is not already in the main spindle, insert it now. For this purpose, enter
„T (no. of tool to be exchanged)" into the command line and press „ENTER".
4. The tool changer now executes a change movement; wait until this procedure has been completed.
5. If the tool to be exchanged is now in the main spindle.
6. Hold on to the tool to be exchanged, press the green button (3) and keep it pressed.
7. The tensioning mechanism of the main spindle is opened and you can remove the tool.
8. Now insert the new tool into the main spindle and release the green button.
9. You should now be able to discern a small tensioning movement of the tool.
10. Ensure again that the tool has been properly clamped.
11. In order for the software to manage the tool, the diameter and length of the newly inserted tool have
to be adapted in the tool correction memory.
12. The newly inserted tool can now be used.
