The

at the factory.
Norma
lly,
no adj
ustment
is necessary as long as
neither the drive clutch nor the driven pulley is
removed or
disassembled.
However, if premature
drive belt failure is experienced or if the drive belt
tu
rns
over, the drive c
lutch/driven
pulley al

ment
must
be c
hecked.

checked
for wear
and the

ha in

tension annually when
preparin g

he snowmobile
for summer storage. To check the
chain
,
sprockets, ch
ain
tensioner,
and
pads, remove the
chaln-case cover
and
seai
and
drai
n
t
he lubrica nt.
If
any
of the compone
nts
of t
he
c
hai n
case are
damaged
or
wo
rn
exc
es s iv ely,
ta
ke
th
e
snow
mo

le
to
an auth
oriz ed

On the 5000, the pulse charger must
be
removed for

is
procedure.

the belly pan to absorb

lubrican t.
OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS

position
.
On the 6000, always check coolant
level
before
starting
the
engine.
For a cold
engine,
move the choke lever to the
full
-choke
position (Fig.
6).
If the engine is
warm
,
choking is not normally
necessary.
