SERVICING AND
MAINTENANCE
Smoke exhaust fan control system – EVS
Main switch
The EVS can be reset using the main switch. The EVS must be briefly disconnected from the power supply by the main switch.
If the EVS has been activated by a fireman's switch or pushbutton alarm, then this must be reset beforehand.
If smoke is detected by a smoke detector, it is not possible to reset the EVS.
Pushbutton alarm
The EVS can be reset using the pushbutton alarm if the EVS has been activated by the triggering of a pushbutton alarm. The trig-
gered pushbutton alarm must be reset in order to reset via the pushbutton alarm. There is a reset button in the pushbutton alarm
casing for this purpose.
Fireman's switch
The fireman's switch is equipped with a concealed mounted reset button in order to reset the system to standby mode after
activation.

Commissioning

All connected devices and components must be checked for correct function during commissioning. In particular, the system
activation by connected smoke detectors, pushbutton alarms or fireman's switches.
The commissioning of the EVS may only take place after correct mounting of the housing cover.
Deactivate main switch (position 0).
Switch operating mode switch to "Ready".
Compare rated motor current from smoke exhaust fan type plate with the set value at the motor protection relay (e.g.
F1).
With regard to star/delta switching (EVS-SD), the set value must be I
Switch fireman's switch (if available) to "READY".
The fire alarm system (if available) must not be activated.
The pushbutton alarm (if available) must not be activated/pressed.
Switch on power supply.
Switch on main switch (position 1).
Switch operating mode switch to "ON".
The smoke exhaust fan will fun without motor protection in smoke extraction mode!
Never switch the rotary switch straight to "Smoke extraction"!
The permissible number of motor starts in smoke extraction mode must be taken into account during commissio-
ning, as otherwise the drive motor could be destroyed due to the bridged motor protection devices!
The EVS LEDs "Operation" and "Ready" must light up.
Check motor for correct direction of rotation, and observe the installation and operating instructions for the smoke
exhaust fan in the process.
Measure and compare actual motor current with set value.
An incorrect direction of rotation can lead to significantly higher motor current in drive motors!
Check direction of rotation.
Check smoke extraction damper for functionality.
Check all activated trigger devices, such as fireman's switches, pushbutton alarms or smoke detectors, for functiona-
lity.
Perform function test.
