FAQs
I have already got a baby monitor system that works
in the same way with plug sockets. Will my new
BT Vision Powerline Adapters work alongside it?
• The Powerline Adapters should not interfere with most
baby monitors (both analogue and DECT systems).
What if the house next door has Powerline
Adapters as well?
• Each pair of Powerline Adapters has it's own
unique security key which will mean your
connection is secure, but in addition, they may
automatically adjust their power to compensate
for any other local adapters found that do not
have the same security key.
Does anything cause interference to the
Powerline Adapters?
• Some devices can have an effect on the Powerline
signal however the Powerline Adapters include
a pass through filter in the socket to reduce the
interference of other devices.
• If you find any equipment that does interfere try
plugging it through the socket on the Powerline
Adapter.
• Interference might show as an interruption to your
On-Demand video service - please call us on 0845
600 7030 for advice if you think this is happening.

FAQs
I have no spare Ethernet Socket on my BT Home
Hub – what should I do?
• Depending on what device you are trying to
wirelessly network to your BT Home Hub depends
on what wireless add-on device you would need.
• If you are using a games console or similar device
please refer to manufacturers instructions as
usually a proprietary wireless device will need to
be purchased.
• If you are attempting to network a desktop PC via
wireless, you will need to use either an internal
PCI wireless network card or a USB wireless
device. The decision on which you use depends
on whether your PC supports PCI cards and/or
USB. Most modern PC's will support both, but if
unsure it is best to refer back to manufacturers
instructions on this.
• If using a laptop you have the choice of
purchasing a PCMCIA wireless card or a USB
wireless device. If unsure it is best to refer back
to manufacturers instructions on this.
