The MIC-3389 provides jumpers for configuring your board for specific applications other than the default settings. Table 1-1 lists the jumper functions. Figure 1-2 illustrates the jumper locations. The jumper JP2 is used to select the PCI bus reference voltage before the PCI-to-PCI bridge (PVIO).
Page 17
From the CMOS, users can read the MIC-3389’s dual CPU status (e.g. the CPU voltages, temperatures and fan speeds), the battery voltage, and the on-board +3.3 V, +5 V and +12 V voltages. The MIC-3389 default setting is to enable the on-board hardware monitor function.
Page 18
On-board connectors link to external devices such as hard disk drives, keyboards, or floppy disk devices, etc. Table 1-5 lists the function of each connector, and Figures 1-2 and 1-3 illustrate each connector location. Chapter 2 gives instructions for connecting external devices to your MIC-3389.

CPUs have to be the same type (PC133 -compliant) and the same speed (up to 1 GHz). In order to meet critical environmental condi- tions and the physical space of the MIC-3389 at the same time, Advantech designed a heat sink together with two slim fans to fulfill both needs.
Page 26
The MIC-3389 provides two IDE (Integrated Device Electronics) channels via the J3 connector to the rear transition board. Four IDE drives can be connected to the MIC-3389 through the rear transition board. Users can connect two IDE drives to each IDE channel. If two drives are installed on one channel, remember to set one as the master and the other one as the slave.

To program the watchdog timer, you must write a program which writes a value to I/O port address 443 (hex). This output value represents time interval. The value range is from 01 (hex) to 3F (hex), and the related time interval is 1 sec. to 63 sec. Data Time Interval 1 sec.
Page 71
After data entry, your program must refresh the watchdog timer by rewriting the I/O port 443 (hex) while simultaneously setting it. When you want to disable the watchdog timer, your program should read I/O port 43 (hex). The following example shows how you might program the watchdog timer in BASIC:...
