The heat gun is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use by a person responsible for
their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with the heat gun.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by
the manufacturer, a service agent or similarly qualified
person in order to avoid a hazard.
STRIPPING OF PAINT, VARNISH
Various paint finishes react to heat differently as far as
time needed for stripping and how they appear when
heated.
Latex may simply soften. Oil base paints will bubble or
blister and may start to lift off the wood. Pretesting is
recommended, so you do not scorch the wood beneath
by use of excess heat.
Choose a suitable scraper, turn on heat gun and allow it
to reach full heating power. Point the airflow at the work
to be done, keeping the nozzle about 3-4" away from
its surface. Allow the paint to thoroughly soften. Move
the gun slightly from side to side. Do not overheat paint.
Always keep scraper clean for best result.
CAUTION: Lead paint fumes are harmful.
Always provide adequate ventilation while
working indoors.
REMOVAL OF ADHESIVE FLOOR TILE
Under high heat, floor tile adhesives will soften. Point heat
gun to small area and lift tile with a scraper, moving the
heat gun ahead as tile lifts.
OPERATING ISSUE
Gun will not turn on.
Gun blows only cool air.
