GENERAL EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
1. Disengage APPlaw Damp
a. Simultaneously regain control of
aircraft and hold down Autopilot

2. The following conditions will cause AP to

a. External power failure.
b. Actuating manual electric trim.*
c. Internal Flight Control System failure.
d. With KCS 55A system, a loss of
compass valid (displaying HDG flag)
disengages the
AP
and FD when a
mode using heading information is
engaged. With compass flag
present, only FD and vertical modes
can be selected.
