8. Remove the belt from the spindle pulleys, lift up
slightly on the left and right hitch arms, and slide
the rear loop of the belt out between the deck
and the hitch arms.
9. Place the new belt over the hitch arms. The front
of the belt loop goes above the hitch arms and is
installed on the spindle pulleys. The rear of the
belt loop goes under the hitch arms.
10. Lift the front of the left hitch arm up away from
the mounting brackets and loop the belt around
the left hitch arm mounting brackets as shown in
the previous pictures.
11. Reinstall the left hitch arm bolt and nut and
torque to 151 ft-lbs (205 Nm).
12. Place the belt loop onto the drive shaft pulley
and the belt tensioner pulley.
13. Check to ensure the belt is routed properly and
seated in the groove of each pulley.
14. Rotate the main belt tension handle 180 degrees
to engage belt tension and secure with the ball pin.
15. Reinstall the belt retainer bolt in the left idler pul-
ley bracket.
16. Close the left, right, and center deck covers and
secure with the rubber handles.
Mid Left Spindle Belt Replacement
1. Detach the mower deck from the power unit.
2. Open the center and left deck covers.
3. Remove the ball pin from the main belt tension
handle and rotate the handle 180 degrees to
release the main deck belt tension.
4. Remove the main deck belt from the top groove
of the left spindle pulley.
5. Release the belt tension spring (A) for the mid
left spindle belt.

SERVICE
6. Remove the mid left spindle belt (B) from the left
spindle and mid left spindle pulleys.
7. Place the new belt onto the mid left spindle pulley
and the bottom groove of the left spindle pulley.
8. Engage the belt tension spring for the mid left
spindle belt.
9. Place the main deck belt into the top groove of
the left spindle pulley.
10. Rotate the main belt tension handle 180 degrees
to engage belt tension and secure with the ball pin.
11. Close the left and center deck covers and
secure with the rubber handles.
Right Spindle Belt Replacement
1. Detach the mower deck from the power unit.
2. Open the center and right deck covers.
3. Remove the ball pin from the main belt tension
handle and rotate the handle 180 degrees to
release the main deck belt tension.
4. Remove the main deck belt from the top groove
of the mid right spindle pulley.
5. Release the belt tension spring (A) for the right
spindle belt.

Remove the right spindle belt (B) from the right
spindle and mid right spindle pulleys.
7. Place the new belt onto the right spindle pulley and
the bottom groove of the mid right spindle pulley.
8. Engage the belt tension spring for the right
spindle belt.
9. Place the main deck belt into the top groove of

the mid right spindle pulley.
10. Rotate the main belt tension handle 180 degrees
to engage belt tension and secure with the ball pin.
11. Close the right and center deck covers and
secure with the rubber handles.
