Belt Inspection

Inspecting the drive belts of the mower can prevent
sudden belt failure by finding problems before they
cause a belt to break.
Typical wear
on a drive
belt may
result in the
conditions
shown in the
diagram. If
any of these
conditions
occur, the drive belt will require replacement.

Drive Belt Replacement

1. Detach the mower deck from the power unit.
2. Remove the drive
pulley shield (A).
3. Remove the old drive
belt and install the
new drive belt onto the
pulley.
4. Reinstall the drive pul-
ley shield.

Deck Belt Replacement

1. Detach the mower deck from the power unit.
2. Open the main deck cover shield.
3. Remove the ball pin from the belt tensioner
handle and rotate the handle up to release the
belt tension.
4. Remove the belt from the belt tensioner pulley
and slide the loop of the deck belt over the end
of the left hitch arm so that the belt is looped
around the left hitch arm mounting brackets.

5. Remove the left hitch arm mounting bolt and lift the
