6. Install a new power supply or install a power filler panel.

Installing the AC power supply

Danger:
Risk of injury from electric shock Before working on this equipment, be aware of proper
safety practices and the hazards involved with electrical circuits. Use only power cords that
have a grounding path. Ensure the switch is properly grounded before powering on the
unit.
Install the AC power supply to provide AC power for components.
Danger:
Risk of personal injury
Due to high-energy hazards of working with components of greater than 240 V AC, only
qualified service personnel are permitted to install and replace Ethernet Routing Switch 8300
components.
Procedure steps
1. Remove the filler panel from the power bay if necessary.
2. Remove the failed power supply.
3. Grasp the handle of the new power supply.
4. Push the power supply firmly into the bay.
Routine Maintenance
Caution:
Save the power filler panel in case you need to operate the 8300 Series chassis
with a power supply removed.
