  • Page 24 Installation preparation - When installing or replacing cables, follow appropriate fiber-cleaning procedures. Electrostatic discharge safety ESD is the transfer of charge between bodies at different electrical potentials. To insert the chassis in a standard equipment rack (19-inch), hold the chassis in position and align the flanged end of each mounting rail with the two holes on each side of the vertical rack support. 4.     The 8306 chassis provides four slots for installing interface modules and two slots for installing SF/CPU modules. Slots are numbered from top down. You can install an Ethernet Routing Switch 8300 module with the power on or off.
