registration. Transfer any
necessary occlusal markings.
Completely clean all traces
of bite registration material
from the baseplate (while
on the model) by rinsing
with clean boiling water
or use a lab steamer. DO
NOT IMMERSE IN BOILING
WATER. Complete removal
of wax is critical to success.
3. Allow the baseplate to cool to
room temperature while still
on the model.
4. Roughen the entire outer
surface of the baseplate
with a coarse carbide bur or
diamond to enhance bonding.
A butt joint is recommended
about 1-2mm above the depth
of the sulcus. The goal is to
eliminate feathered edges of
Contour Resin on the flange.
5. Clean the entire prepared
surface, thoroughly
scrubbing with a clean
denture brush and tap water;
then dry. Following this, use a
brush and isopropyl or ethyl/
denatured alcohol to clean
the surface; then blow dry
with clean compressed air.

Processing, with one exception:
Eclipse Gel is not required for
partial dentures. Place the partial
denture in the Eclipse Processing
Unit and cure. (Menu #2/Full/
Partial Dent.)
III. OPTIONAL METHOD
FOR FULL AND PARTIAL
DENTURES
Conventional dental wax can be
used to set teeth in combination
with an Eclipse processed
baseplate to make a try-in
denture.
1.
After receipt of the try-in
denture from the dental
professional, use a matrix to
establish tooth position in
relation to the model. Then
remove the wax from the
processed baseplate and
teeth.
2. When using plastic teeth,
prepare the teeth using
Eclipse Bonding Agent. See
Bonding Agent Directions
For Use and follow the
Step-By-Step instructions.
(Mechanical retention is an
alternative method that may
be used at this point.)
If you prefer to
use mechanical
retention,
directions are
as follows:
Anterior
teeth: Use
keyed retention slots and
cut a collar groove around
the tooth or in the lingual/
gingival area.
Posterior teeth: Use keyed
retention slots or cut a collar
groove around the tooth if
insufficient vertical dimension
exists to cut the keyed slots.
Keyed Retention Slots: Use a
handpiece and the Dentpsly
Sirona Knife Edged Diamond
(Re-order #905128) to cut
two keyed retention slots
into each tooth as shown.
It is important that the two
slots are not made parallel
to each other. Maximize the
distance between the slots
and cut at a 45˚ angle. The
slot depth should be 1 to 1.5
mm deep for small to large
teeth respectively. Similarly
the slot width should be
0.75 to 1.5 mm for small to
