Should you encounter metal
5. Turn the motor off once you have drilled the hole by putting the on/off switch (1)
back to "0".
6. Turn off the water supply.
7. Remove the core bit from the drilled hole.
8. Remove the core from the bit.
If the core is stuck in the bit, disassemble the core bit using the "41" key and another
key "32" (motor).
Push the core out of the bit using a rod.
Never hit the bit.
Should the core bit be blocked, turn the switch (1) to the "0" position.
Disassemble the core using the key "41" by following the arrow. Remove the
bored core and check the bottom of the drilled hole. If a piece of metal is left
behind, remove it. Otherwise it could result in blockage, or even damage to
the bit.
Check the core bit and the condition of the segments, assemble the core and
begin drilling once more starting at the bottom of the hole.

MAINTENANCE

Transport
Always carry the apparatus using the hand grip (5), never using the water hose. This
could damage it.
Oil
After 300 working hours, the oil in the gear box should be refreshed. This must be done
by a SPIT service operator.
Take note:
Should an oil leak occur, turn the machine off immediately. Loss of oil is bad for
the workings of the machine and could cause damage. Bring it straight to the
SPIT service centre.

SYMPTOMS:
• The motor vibrates
• The cooling water is clean and contains metal particles
SOLUTIONS:
• Decrease the pressure whilst drilling through metal
• If necessary, turn the apparatus off and adjust it to a lower speed
While drilling through metal
• Increase the water pressure
