Safety clutch
The slip clutch served for compensation of shocks and overload.
To keep its functionality it should no slip for more than 2 seconds. In case of excessive
wearing, it can be replace by an authorized service centre.
Diamond core drills
Diamond core drills with a ½" male thread and 1 ¼" female threads can be screwed directly
onto the working spindle.
Use only appropriate SPIT core drills for the material to be drilled in. You can protect your tool
by using only well balanced diamond drills without deformation.
Make sure that the diamond segments have sufficient cutting clearance towards the bit body.
Changing diamond core drills
Attention!
When you use or sharpen the machine, it might heat up enormously.
You could burn you hands or get cut or ripped by the segments.
Therefore, always use protection gloves when changing the drill bit.
The drilling spindle has a right-hand thread.
To ease screwing on and off, always use a SW 32 open-end wrench at the drilling spindle.
Never use a hammer, because this may damage both the drill and the tool.
Put some water resistant grease on the drilling spindle threat or use a copper ring between the
spindle and the drill bit to simplify the removal of the drill bit.

MAINTENANCE

Before the beginning of the maintenance- or repair works you have to disconnect
plug from the mains.
Repairs to the machine can only be done in the SPIT repair shops.
After approximately 250 hours of operation, the carbon brushes must be checked and, if
necessary, be replace by an authorised SPIT service centre.
Once per quarter of a year, an electrical specialist should check the switch, cable and plug.
The tool requires a minimum of care and maintenance:
Unplug the tool before you start the maintenance.
Clean the tool after completion of your work.
Put some grease onto the drilling spindle head.
The ventilation slots must always be clean and unclogged.
Make sure that no water gets into the tool during the cleaning.
After the first 150 hours of operation, the gearing oil must be changed.
Changing the oil increases the lifetime of the tool.
