NIGHTFIGHTER HEADS-UP DISPLAY SYSTEM INSTALLATION
Note: The Nightfighter Heads-Up Display System has
been tested and found to comply with the limits for a
Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC
Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable
protection against harmful interference in a residential
installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radi-
ate radio frequency and, if not installed in accordance
with instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio
communications. However, there is no guarantee that
interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this
equipment does cause interference to radio or television
reception, which can be determined by turning the equip-
ment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct
the interference by one or more of the following measures:
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
Increase the separation between the equipment and
the receiver.
Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit dif-
ferent from that to which the receiver is connected.
Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV techni-
cian for help.
BRACKET AND TRANSMITTER KIT
If the air mask being upgraded has a DragonFly IP Pass
installed, MSA Left Shoulder Gauge Line Kit, P/N
10042264 or P/N 10043335, is also required.
DESCRIPTION
The NightFighter Heads-Up Display System Bracket and
Transmitter Kit is designed to attach to an MSA Ultra Elite
Facepiece to allow the easy attachment and removal of
the NightFighter Heads-Up Display System.
Note: The NightFighter Heads-Up Display System can
only be used with an Ultra Elite Facepiece.
ICM TX UNIT
The ICM Tx Unit is assembled to the gauge line and
serves as the transmitter for the NightFighter Heads-Up
Display System.

ULTRA ELITE FACEPIECE DISASSEMBLY

Removing the Component Housing Cover for MMR 1/4
Turn
1. Remove the two component housing cover screws
and spacers. Remove the neckstrap.
2. Remove the locking ring.
3. Lift up on the cover release hook, located forward of
the adapter assembly opening. Once the release is lift-
ed, remove the cover by pulling it away from the hous-
ing. Tilt the cover and work it over one adapter bayo-
net at a time.
Removing the Component Housing Cover for MMR
Firehawk with Push-To-Connect Adapter
1. Remove the two component housing cover screws.
Remove the neckstrap.
Note: The cover wall must be between the connection
collar and the adapter flange to allow the adapter to
rotate.
2. Lift up on the cover release hook, located forward of
the adapter assembly opening. Lift up on the cover,
hold the cover up, and unthread the adapter.
Removing the Component Housing Cover for MMR
Firehawk with Slide Connection
1. Remove the two component housing cover screws.
Remove the neckstrap.
2. Lift up on the cover. Remove the cover by pulling it
away from the housing. Tilt the cover and work it over
adapter.
3. Unthread and remove the adapter assembly.
Be careful that you do not damage internal parts of
the component housing assembly (exhalation valve,
spring, retainer, or speaking diaphragm) once the
cover is removed.
Note: The following procedures are for MMR 1/4 Turn,
MMR Firehawk with Slide Connection, or MMR Firehawk
with Push-To-Connect Facepieces:
