DTC P0201/P0202 Cylinder 1 or Cylinder 2 Fuel Injector Fault
Circuit Description
The ECM controls each fuel injector by
grounding the control circuit via a solid state
device called a driver. If the ECM detects an
unacceptable difference in resistance, a fuel
injector control DTC is set.
Although the DTC indicates which fuel injector
is faulty, the technician must determine if the
fault is in the ground circuit or the +12v circuit
from the MPR.
NOTE: If an ignition coil fault code is active,
the fuel injector for the same cylinder is turned
off.

Diagnostic Aids
Check for the following conditions:
1. Poor ECM connection.
2. Inspect wire harness connectors for backed
out terminals, improper mating, broken
locks, improperly formed or damaged termi-
nals, and poor terminal to wire connection.
3. Inspect wiring harness for damage.
4. Check fuse block for an open fuse.
Always clear DTCs after performing repairs.
