Setting-up the connection to the converter Control Unit

Establish a connection between the Control Unit (CU) of the converter and a local service PC
using the SCALANCE switch.
Note
When carrying out any work, carefully observe the five safety rules (Page 8).
Recommendation: Document the changes made to the CU configuration. Place the
documentation of the changes and/or the current configuration in the converter control cabinet
where it can be easily seen.
Prerequisite
The service PC is in the same subnet as interface "X127" of the CU.
Procedure
1. Open the control cabinet of the converter.
2. In the control cabinet, locate where the SCALANCE switch is installed.
3. Directly and physically connect the local service PC to a free interface of the SCALANCE
switch using a LAN cable.
Note
You have direct access to the internal network of the connectivity module via the
SCALANCE switch. Protect your local service PC against unauthorized access. Under no
circumstance weaken the hardening measures of the connectivity module.
4. Set up a service connection from the local service PC to the converter Control Unit.
