Applications together with SIPROTEC relays
8.1
SIEMENS-Relays of version 1/2 together with DIGSI V3
An Active Mini-Starcoupler allows the central- or remote interrogation of
maximal 5 non-addressable relays from version 1 or version 2 (V1 or V2)
together with DIGSI V3. For each relay one optical interface is required.
The number of non-addressable relays can be increased up to 128, if
several Active Mini-Starcouplers are cascaded over the RS485-bus. The
different interface parameters of each relay are set like the parameters
of the connected Slave-interfaces. Each relays serial front interface
requires a corresponding optical Slave-interface. The channel selection
and the operation together with relays V1 and V2 is supported by
settings in DIGSI V3.3 for each relay and explained in the manual of
DIGSI V3.3.
This application shows how to operate with non-addressable relays V1
or V2. The relays are set with their optimal interface parameters, so each
realy is interrogated with it´s maximum baudrate. This allows quick
central and remote access.
Settings for the first Active Mini-Starcoupler
left device nearest at the modem/PC for the configuration
shown in fig. 4.
