INSTALLATION

WARNING: Remove all system power before installation, first battery then AC. (To power
up, connect the AC first, then the battery.
Depending on the application, the Scalance XC206-2SFP-MM or XC206-2SFP-SM can be
mounted in the following methods:



For mixed applications (combinations of Desigo CC/Cerberus DMS, NCC, Desigo Fire Safety
Compact/Cerberus PRO Compact, Desigo Fire Safety Modular/Cerberus PRO Modular GCNET),
only one switch mounting method is required, provided that all Ethernet connections are within 20
feet in closed conduit within the same room.
3.1

Installation for Standalone Management Station Applications

For standalone Desigo CC/Cerberus DMS applications, the switch must be mounted in the
Network Enclosure. The Ethernet connection to the Management Stations must be within 20 feet
in closed conduit within the same room.

on mounting the XC206-2SFP-MM/-SM in the Network Enclosure.
This application may also be used to support a legacy NCC Management Station.
3.2 Installation for Desigo Fire Safety Compact / Cerberus PRO Compact
Applications
For Desigo Fire Safety Compact/Cerberus PRO Compact applications, the switch may be
mounted in either the Network Enclosure or in a 2 HU/3 HU enclosure with the panel.
3.2.1

Mounting in the Network Enclosure

The Ethernet connection to the Desigo Fire Safety Compact/Cerberus PRO Compact
Enclosure must be within 20 feet in closed conduit

Mounting in a 2HU/3HU with the Panel

Mounting in a 2HU/3HU enclosure with the Desigo Fire Safety Compact/Cerberus PRO
Compact requires the use of the NTWRK-MP-C mounting plate. Refer to the NTWRK-MP-C
Installation Instructions, Document ID A6V12451457, for details on mounting the Scalance
XC206-2SFP-MM/-SM in a 2HU/3HU enclosure.
