Test mode
A jumper inserted as shown in Fig. 16 establishes a test function in which the optical
transmit and receive interfaces of the communication converter are looped, so that data
received by the device are not passed on but fed back from the transmitter to the receiver.
In the 7SD51, the message "data transmission error" will disappear if the data are looped
back successfully to the device. Furthermore, the DOK relay keeps being activated
during test operation. This test function can be used during commissioning, or to check
the FO cable between the protection device and the communication converter for
servicing purposes (see Table 3).
