Donning the full face mask
Take full face mask out of carrying
case and open out straps.
Pull neck strap over head.
Pull straps over head, easing the
middle section towards the back of
the head so that the headband fits
smoothly.
When full face mask is in place, first
pull both neck straps and then
temple straps until they are tight.
Pull head band backwards until it
fits tightly.
ATTENTION!
Beards and sideburns in the sealed area of the full face mask may
cause leaks. People who have them should not use full face masks.
Spectacles in the sealed area may also cause leaks; use full face
mask goggles, if necessary.
Pull breathing hose, heat exchanger and warning module fully out of the
breathing device.
This action automatically activates oxygen production and escape warning.
If the LED lights once and the alarm sounds once the warning module is
functioning properly. If the LED remains lit and a continuous sound is
given, the escape warning is not functioning properly. The functioning of
the oxygen breathing device itself is, however, not affected.
Remove locking cap from heat exchanger.
Put heat exchanger into mask connection immediately. The heat
exchanger must be heard to engage. Check connection by pulling
gently on the heat exchanger.
Leak test
Kink breathing hose tightly.
Breathe in slowly and hold your breath for a moment.
Negative pressure must be maintained. If this does not happen,
tighten mask straps, re-position full face mask and repeat test.
The full face mask must be properly sealed before starting to use the
oxygen breathing device.
NOTE
If the ambient air is cold, unfold breathing bag by hand. If the brea-
thing bag does not inflate, breathe in ambient air and exhale into the
breathing bag to fill it and start oxygen production.

Use

When the warning has been activated and its proper functioning checked,
a red LED flashes and an intermittent sound commences when 2/3rds of
the operating time have elapsed to signal that escape must commence.
When breathing becomes more difficult and the breathing bag begins to
deflate, the oxygen supply is coming to an end.
If the visor on the Oxy K pro full face mask starts to mist over
Swing wiper several times with lever on the outside and then return
lever to vertical position.
Important rules for use
Begin activity calmly: do not rush.
Work steadily. Rapid breathing uses more oxygen.
The air from the Oxy K pro will be warm and dry, which means that the
device is functioning properly. Slight odours (and taste) are quite nor-
mal and not dangerous.
Do not damage or squash the breathing bag.
Do not change the battery in an area of intrinsic safety. Only use batte-
ries type V28 PXL (6 Volt, 170 mAh) from company Varta.

After Use

Take off breathing connection and breathing protection device.
