Regular descaling
CAUTION!
In order to prolong the life of the unit and maintain a high level of coffee
quality, the coffee machine should regularly be cleaned of deposits!
Returns will not be accepted if the coffee machine has not been cleaned of
deposits regularly - as written in the instructions for use.
Such complaints are not subject to repair under warranty!
o During use of the coffee machine, depending on the hardness of the local water supply
internal parts of the unit can become covered in calcium deposits. In order to maintain
the unit in the best possible condition and ensure the best possible results from each
brewing cycle it is necessary to clean the unit of deposits from time to time.
o The coffee machine is equipped with a descale indicator
after a certain level of deposits have collected. When the descale indicator (red
control light in the shape of a triangle
of deposits for if not the quality of coffee and overall functioning of the unit cannot be
ensured.
o If it is not possible at that exact moment to clean the unit, it is still possible to make
several more pots of coffee before the coffee machine is cleaned.
o For removal of calcium deposits we recommend „Fast descaler for coffee
machines" a formula tried and tested by us:
(Code-No. 190065; packaged in 30 portions of 15 g/each).
o Dissolve the calcium deposit removal formula (15 g) in 1 - 2 litres of water.
o Pour the solution containing the calcium deposit removal formula to the water
container (4) the coffee machine.
o Insert the filter basket (3) by sliding it along the appropriate guides (without coffee).
o Place the empty thermo jug (6) (without pump tube) on the lower plate (5), under the
filter basket (3).
o Switch the main ON/OFF switch (1) as during normal operation.
o After a small amount of the solution has dripped into the thermos (3) turn the unit off.
o Wait 5 - 6 minutes for the remaining portion of the solution to dissolve the calcium
deposits then turn the unit on again.
o When the entire solution has run through the unit, turn it off and pour out the solution.
o Water remaining in the coffee machine should be removed via the water release
screw (10) located at the back of the unit (on the bottom). After draining, replace
the drain screw.
