3.3 Preparation for installation

Fixation in installation recess
Plastic clamps are provided for mounting the device. Hook the mounting clamps to the
recesses at the Industrial USB Hub 4. The main dimensions of the Industrial USB Hub 4 are
not affected by this.

Selecting installation location
Points to observe when selecting the mounting location:
● Position the Industrial USB Hub 4 in such a way that it is protected against direct sunlight.
● Position the Industrial USB Hub 4 in a position that is ergonomical for the operator and
● Ensure that the air vents are not obstructed when the Industrial USB Hub 4 is installed.
● Adhere to the approved mounting positions of the Industrial USB Hub 4.
● Please note that the USB cable has a length of about 90 cm.
Degrees of Protection
The protection ratings are only ensured if the mounting cutout conforms to the following:
● Thickness of material at the installation cut-out for protection class IP65: 2 mm to 6°mm
● Permitted deviation from plane at the mounting cut-out: ≤0.5 mm
● Permissible surface roughness in the area of the seal: ≤ 120 µm (R
The protection ratings are only guaranteed, if the cover flap of the Industrial USB Hub 4 is
closed.
