Flame effect cover

Intended use
This cover simulates the appearance and sound of an open
fire. It must only be used with the Truma S 5004 / S 5004 E
(NL) heater.

Installation instructions

Only competent and trained staff (experts) are
permitted to install and repair the Truma product and to
carry out the function test, at the same time observing
the installation and operating instructions and the
currently recognised technical regulations. Experts are
persons who, based on their specialist instruction and
training, their knowledge and experience with Truma
products and the relevant standards, can carry out the
necessary work properly and identify potential hazards.
Read the installation instructions carefully before working,
and then comply with them!
Installing the flame effect cover
In the case of a Truma S 5004 / S 5004 E (NL) heater, the cov-
er can be replaced by a flame effect cover.
– Removing the cover
– Make the 12 V electrical connection
– Attach the flame effect cover
Remove the cover
Do not remove the cover unless the heater is switched
off and has cooled down.
In the case of a flame effect cover, unplug the con-
nector cable before removing the cover.
The cover is unlocked by pushing the two locking levers (1)
outwards simultaneously. It can be swivelled out and lifted
from the lower bearings.

12 V electrical connection
Electrical lines, switching and control equipment for
heaters must be in locations that will not cause the oper-
ation thereof to be adversely affected under normal operating
conditions. The breakthroughs of all lines leading to the out-
side must be protected from splash water.
Depending on the variant, a fuse (3.15 AT) is installed in the
supplied connector cable.
Connector cable with fuse (3.15 AT)
Connect the appliance to the fused vehicle's electrical system
(central electrical system max. 10 A). Pay attention to polarity.
Connector cable without fuse
Connect the appliance to the fused vehicle electrical system
(central electrical system max. 3.15 AT). Pay attention to
polarity.
Lay the connector cable towards the front.
The cable must not lie against the heat exchanger.
No other consumers must be connected to the connector
cable!
When power supplies are being used, it must be noted
that the output voltage is between 11 V and 15 V and
the alternating current ripple is < 1.2 Vss.
Attach the connector cable to the PCB (X1) on the back of the
cover. Attach the plug until it engages.
