adaptor. The DROP adaptors are used in server-to-DTE connections (cross over is performed
by the adaptor). The SYS adaptors are used for server-to-DCE connections.
3.3.7 Punch Down Block (66M Style)
The 66M style punch-down block is a 50-pins by 4 rows distribution terminal block used in
wiring closets and telephone wiring applications. A 50-pin Telco/Amphenol male connector is
mounted on each side of the block as shown in Figure 3-16. Xyplex recommends that bottom-
entry extension cables be used with velcro fasteners. (There are no bail-lock latches on the
block for the other type of connector.) Two 50-pin rows are associated with each pin. One row
connects to the input connector and the other row accepts the wiring to the telephone wiring, with
6 pins per port. Table 3-2 describes the connections for Xyplex supplied 66M punch-down blocks.
(For the Model 724 24-port Telco I/O module, you need to use two 50-pin punch-down blocks.)
