LISTENING TO THE RADIO
Memory operation
This unitenables 12 stations FM1, FM2 and AM (eg: 6 MW
and 6 LW) bands to be preset in the memory.

Pressthe UP or DOWN switch to tune in a station.
Press the switch and release it when the frequency
starts to change. The
unit aut~matically
stops at
the
next
receivable
station.

When
receiving a station with weak signals, press
the switch repeatedly until the desired frequency is
displayed. Each time the switch is pressed, the fre-
quency changes in
9
kHz steps for MW, 1 kHz steps
for LW and 0.05 MHz steps for FM.
Pressthe MEMORY switch. "MEMORY' appears.

while "MEMORY' is lit (approx. 5 seconds).

After 5 seconds, the clock display returns.
Note:
When the band is selected by the controls on the
main unit, be sure the @ - @ switches on the
remote control are functioning as preset function
switches (instead of CD 10KEY).
- If "MEMORY' has been disappeared before pro-
ceeding with step 4, press the MEMORY switch to
continue.
Repeat steps 1-4, to add more preset stations.
Clearing the memory

Sele~ the band. -
Selectthe preset number to be cleared by pressingone
of the @ - @ switches. The preset number appears.
Press the CLEAR switch while the preset number is
displayed. The preset station will be cleared from the
memory and"- - - -" will appear on the frequency dis-
play.
Note:
- If a new station is programmed into a band and preset
number already containing a programmed station,the
previouslyprogrammed station will be cleared.
- Ifthe memory contents are lostdue to a powerfailureor
other condition, programme the stations again.
Listening
to the radio
1. Select
"TUNER".
2. Select the band.
(Procedure 1)
3. Select the desired preset number by pressing one of
the @ - @ switches on the remote control.The clock
is replaced bythe preset number on the display.After5
seconds, the clock display returns.
(Procedure 2)
3. Press the SCAN switch on the remote control. Each of
the preset stations is selected for approximately 5 sec-
onds. When all of the preset stations in the selected
band have been tuned in, the original reception mode
returns.
When the desired station has been tuned in, pressthe
SCAN switchagain to keep the reception locked at that
station.
- "STEREO" appears when an FM stereo broadcast is
received.
MODE
switch (on the remote control)
If the signals from an FM stereo station are weak and
reception is poor, press the MODE switch to change to
monaural reception. ("STEREO" is replaced by "MONO"
in the display.)
LISTENING TO RECORDS OR AV SOURCES
1. Pressthe PHONO or AV function switch.
2. Follow the instructions supplied with the turntable or
audio/video equipment.
