BEFORE OPERATION
Turn down the VOLUME control so that the sound will
not suddenly be delivered at a high level.
Pressthe POWER switch.
To turn offthe power, press it again. The clock display
and
POWER
indicator remain lit.
While the SOUND ON/OFF indicator is lighting, no
sound is obtained from the speakers or headphones.
Turn it off by pressing the SOUND ON/OFF switch.
When the power is switched ON:
Tunec
"Frequency display" appears on the display.
Amplifiec
The VOLUME indicator, one of the function indicators
and display light.
CD playec
If the function is "CD", "no dISC" appears on the
display. If a disc has been placed on the disc tray, its
total number of tracks and total play time appear. Wmh
any other function, "Cd OFF" appears.
Adjusting the volume
Turn the VOLUME control or press the "+" or" -" VOL
switchon the remote control.
OR
To mute the sound temporarily
Pressthe SOUND ON/OFF switch, The SOUND ON/OFF
indicatorlights.Pressthe SOUND
ON/OFF
switchagain to
restorethe previous sound level.
Adjusting the left/right speaker balance
Use
the
BAIANCE
control to adjust the left/rightspeaker
balance. Normally, it is kept at its centre position.
Selecting the function
The
function is automatically selected when CD play or
tape playback is stafted, or when any of the function
switches on the tuner have been operated.
- When the function selection is changed, CD play or
tape playback isautomaticallystopped. (except during
tape dubbing.)
- Pressthe PHONO orAV function switchfor turntable or
compatible audio/video equipment operation.
Surround
sound system
Pressthe SURROUND switch. The SURROUND indicator
lights and a "Wide" effect is created.
- The surround effect cannot be activated while you are
listeningto monaural sound.
Base expander system
Press the BASSXPANDER switch to enhance the bass –
sound. The BASSXPANDERindicator lights.
Spectrum analyzer
Indicates the input level and peak value of each sound
range.
General inputleveland peakvalueare indicatedon LEVEL
WHAT TO DO IF ...
Ifthe operation of the unit or display is not normal,turn off
the
POWER
switch on the main unit and then turn it on
again.
Ifthe power is notturned off even by pressingthe POWER
switch,disconnectthe mainslead fromtheAC outlet.Then
connect the lead to the AC outlet and resume the opera-
tion. In this case, reset the clock and memory contents.
