POSSIBLE CAUSES
Faulty VXI module
installed or voltage
fault occurred
VXI supply is out of
tolerance
Module temperature
rise or max ambient
limit exceeded
or
Insufficient module
cooling air
Fan speed tolerance
limit exceeded
WHAT TO DO
Cycle power.
If fault persists remove installed VXI
modules
until
fault
cleared.
Perform Basic Functional Check
procedure from Chapter 3.
For EMS equipped mainframe check
VXI supply voltage levels and that
alarm limits are valid. (See Chapter
4)
Check ) ) T and T
max
panel (EMS option).
Check for restrictions to airflow at
mainframe intake and exhaust.
Check fan TACH outputs at rear
panel (EMS option).
Query
EMS
to
temperature, slot temperature rise,
and fan speed to verify values and
limits. Refer to Chapter 4.
Clean mainframe module cooling fan
filter.
Check fan TACH output at rear panel
Query EMS to check fan speed value
and to verify limits. Refer to Chapter
4.
Check for restrictions to airflow at
mainframe intake and exhaust.
Clean mainframe module cooling fan
filter.
